The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Provincial Office hosted the launch of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cooperation Initiative “Security and Defense.” The initiative, established by Governor Michał Sztybel in cooperation with the Employers of Pomerania and Kujawy organization, serves as a new platform for collaboration between public administration, the military, the scientific community, and the business sector.
The project’s goal is to meaningfully involve local businesses in the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces and to build a strong regional industrial and technological base. The importance of keeping funds from defense contracts within the region was emphasized, as this directly impacts economic development, the creation of new jobs, and the strengthening of the potential of Kujawsko-Pomorskie companies.
The following key areas of cooperation were identified:
– development of the “Local Content” model, increasing the participation of regional enterprises in strategic state investments,
– implementation of Dual-Use solutions, enabling the use of civilian innovations for the defense sector,
– expert support for companies regarding defense-related procedures and public procurement.
The event was also attended by representatives of WZL No. 2 S.A. CEO Jakub Gazda and Sales Director Magdalena Suplicka, who emphasized the importance of cooperation between industry, government, and the defense sector for the further development of the region’s security.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a letter of intent formalizing the cooperation and setting the direction for the further development of the regional technology and defense sector.
