Today, Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 took part in Open Tests of Unmanned Weapons Systems, during which the operation of modern drones, anti-drone systems, and autonomous solutions – key to the security of the modern battlefield, was presented in practice.
The event was organized jointly by companies from the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and national military and research institutes.
For the first time, a fragment of the combat use of the SAN anti-drone system was presented, including the SA35 anti-aircraft system with a 35 mm effector and the WLKM system on the LEGWAN Long chassis with a 12.7 mm effector, known as the “Monster of Tarnów.”
The following PGZ Group companies presented their products and solutions: PIT-RADWAR S.A., Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., and Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne BELMA, as well as the following research institutes: the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Military Institute of Armament Technology, the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology, and the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements – Łukasiewicz Research Network (PIAP).
Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2, represented by President of the Management Board Jakub Gazda, PhD, and Technical Director and Member of the Management Board Zbigniew Matuszczak, presented the following in the air: Szerszeń unmanned aerial vehicles (in cooperation with ITWL), DragonFly (in cooperation with WITU) and Wizjer unmanned aerial vehicles. The static display featured the UAV Orlik, Młot and JET 2 (in cooperation with ITWL).
The event was attended by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk, and Minister Paweł Bejda.
The aim of the tests was to comprehensively present air and land unmanned strike, reconnaissance, evacuation, and transport systems developed by the Polish defense industry and national research institutes.
