Summary of the year 2023

For Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 S. A. , the ending year of 2023 was a special one, the Supervisory Board after conducting the qualification procedure, on 30 March this year appointed colonel Tomasz Kozyra as President of the Management Board of the company for the 6th term. New authority, new management, and a new order. A new organizational regulation has been introduced to the Company, which is expected to bring many good changes for the coming years.

 

I. Contracts completed or obtained

The company has completed many agreements and signed new ones for the coming years. Below is an overview of the most important ones:

 

1.The contract for the repair of RD -33 engines and AL-21 engines for the Polish Air Force was completed.

 

2.Contractshavebeensignedforsubsequentyears:
>> Agreement No. 61/3RBLog/03/2023 – servicing of MiG-29 and Su-22 aircraft in the years 2023-2026,
>> Agreement No. 62/3RBLog/03/2023 – servicing of F-16 aircraft in the years 2023-2026,
>> Agreement No. 63/3RBLog/03/2023 – maintenance of C-130 Hercules aircraft in the years 2023-2026.

 

3.On 11 August, Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 S. A. signed an agreement for overhaul of 6 RD-33 engines for MIG-29 aircraft with the Ministry of National Defence of Bulgaria. The agreement was signed to ensure the airworthiness of the MiG-29 until operational capability for combat service with the new F-16 Block 70 platform is achieved.

 

4.On December 12, Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 S. A. signed an agreement on cooperation in the implementation of the Polish FA-50 program with KAI Korea Aerospace Industries. The agreement between KAI and WZL No. 2 S. A. aims to define the areas of industrial cooperation concerning the FA-50 aircraft operation support program, in particular in the field of comprehensive logistic support, as well as maintenance, repair, overhaul and modernization of FA-50 aircraft, which will allow WZL No. 2 S. A. to achieve the highest level of competence and the establishment of a service center in Poland.

 

II. Participation in domestic and foreign exhibition events and participation in shows and conferences:

In 2023, we presented our top product, which is the Dragonfly Circulating Ammunition System, at many exhibition events in Poland and abroad:

 

1.IDEX in the United Arab Emirates – Abu Dhabi;
2.POLCBRN at Bydgoszcz Airport – workshops of the State Fire Service;
3.AIR SHOW in Radom;
4.MSPO in Kielce;
5.DSEI in London;
6.Night at the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw;
7.ADEX South Korea.

 

We have also participated in many conferences:
1. DefenceDay24 in Warsaw;
2. The C-130 Technical Coordination Group (TCG) World Wide Review (WWR) in Orlando;
3. AVIATION WEEK MRO EUROPE in Amsterdam;
4. 7th Aviation Industry Meeting, training in aviation safety category;
5. 18th International Conference and Exhibition of Contemporary Technologies for State Security;
6. 17th International Conference and Exhibition of New Generation Aviation 2023.

 

In May, a visit of the Group of Experts on the Ensuring the Security of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region took place. The aim of the meeting was to present unmanned aerial vehicles for special purposes and to discuss their use by different services.

 

We also hosted a delegation from KAI Korea Aerospace Industries. We presented our capabilities for servicing FA-50 aircraft.

In June, representatives of Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 S. A. took part in an economic mission to Saudi Arabia accompanying the visit of a Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative to the country. The program of the mission included a Polish-Saudi Business Forum, networking meetings, visits to Saudi institutions and bilateral talks with representatives of the local administration.

 

In August, US Ambassador Mark Brzezinski also visited us to oversee technical work related to the support provided for F-16 aircraft belonging to the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE).

 

III. Marketing activities

At the end of the year we support various initiatives organized for children:

 

1.On December 5th we supported a performance organized by Theater for a Single Smile (Teatr Za Jeden Uśmiech) for young patients from University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz.
2. On December 10th we got involved in supporting a charity table tennis tournament organized by the NITRO-CHEM Company. The aim of the action was to support children from the Care and Educational Institutions of Bydgoszcz.
3. On December 20th, we supported a performance organized by Theater for a Single Smile for small patients of the Warsaw Center for Medical Care “KOPERNIK” in Warsaw.
